Jeanette Illidge
Biography

Jeanette Illidge is a talented singer/songwriter with a true passion for music and a love for performing. In 2005, while completing her undergraduate studies at The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), she landed a record deal with Dadd’s Production, an independent label based in Savannah, Georgia. She began working on her debut album which is an eclectic mix of Pop/ R&B with hints of Opera. It is a reflection of her musical influences and the songs have a quality that are uniquely her own.
In 2006 Ms. Illidge graduated from SCAD receiving a BFA in Performing Arts. Since graduation she has performed in several musicals and is now a proud member of Actors Equity Association. Favorite roles include the title role in Disney’s Aida and the feisty “Princess Jasmine” in Disney’s Aladdin, which she performed on the stage of The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Most recently she toured in Europe as a member of The Atlanta Opera Chorus in the opera Porgy and Bess and performed on the stage of The Opera Comique. 2009 has begun with much promise for Jeanette. She will perform for Savannah’s Black Heritage Festival on February 7 (www.savannahblackheritagefestival.com). In the spring (April 30 – May 30) Jeanette will perform as “Ti Moune” in Once on This Island at The Aurora Theatre (www.auroratheatre.com) in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Also, her much anticipated debut album has been slated to drop sometime this spring.
With a pleasant demeanor and a humble outlook for the future she is hopeful that all of her hard work and perseverance will bring success. |
