Jeanette Illidge

Jeanette Illidge is an immensely talented singer and songwriter. Her abilities also extend to other ends of the musical spectrum; she can play the flute and the piano. From the minute she begins to perform she has been known to mesmerize audiences leaving them with a desire to hear and see more of this enigmatic young woman. Her refreshingly unique brand of pop mixed with opera, dubbed "popera¨, has left the harshest critics intrigued and dying to meet her. She possesses a rare talent that never ceases to amaze and raises the question "who is Jeanette Illidge?¨

Jeanette was born in Lawton, Oklahoma but laughingly jokes, "I was just born there, I've never actually been there.¨ Raised in a military family Jeanette grew accustomed to moving around from an early age. She began her musical education from the time she could read at age four through piano lessons. Her mother loved to sing and listen to all different types of music and the record player in their home played everything from Dionne Warwick to Julie Andrews. Jeanette would sing with her mother and once it was discovered that she could hold a tune she was encouraged to sing in church. A shy Jeanette would get up on the platform and sing but she found it utterly frightening and hated to sing in front of a crowd. After her father retired from the military, and the family settled down in the Savannah, Georgia area, Jeanette joined the band in her new school and began to play the flute. While attending high school Jeanette took voice lessons and with the encouragement of her vocal coach she overcame her fear of the stage and at her first voice recital she performed a song that was familiar to her, The Sound of Music. From then on she has been unstoppable.

While looking for a producer to record a performance track of a song she wrote Jeanette met Eric "Runchy¨ Winbush, CEO of Dadd's Production, a record label located in Savannh, Georgia. After the company heard her sing her song they wanted her to sign with them as an artist.

After being signed to Dadd's Production, Jeanette has been recording tracks for her upcoming debut album, which is expected to drop in early Fall. The album is a true testimony to Jeanette's talent as a singer as well as a songwriter. She wrote all of the songs on the album and plays the flute and the piano on many of the tracks.

The final result is an album unlike any other out on the market. It is refreshingly original and full of the unexpected. Jeanette states, " I wanted to really push the envelope with this album and blow away some of the stereotypes that society places on me". My goal with this album is to positively influence people and even if I only reach one person, my goal has been accomplished.¨ Listen to every lyric and every note and be amazed by all of the elements present in this album that helps to define who Jeanette Illidge really is.
